Extensive Experience Across Multiple Industries

Finding a company that has experience working in your industry can be a challenge. Hive Plastics has created roto-molded products for a variety of companies and individuals. All of our work is precise and quality tested before it makes it into your hands.

Water, waste, or chemicals need to be stored appropriately. Our team crafts proper liquid storage containers that can serve your business, factory, or industrial space. You will receive a product that is leak-proof, durable, and resistant to UV damage. Save yourself stress over leaks or contamination by choosing a well-crafted product.

Pallets, bins, and carts make transporting materials from point A to point B much easier. If you want your business to have a smooth operation, material handling products can help reduce stress. Our roto-molded products will be resistant to rust and rot, saving you time and money in the long run.

Products that are left in the sun, in inclement weather, and exposed to pests will deteriorate quickly. Plastic molded products are known to last much longer, helping to serve your recreation or outdoor work for much longer. Tables, recreational equipment, and agricultural parts can be crafted by our team.

Farmers are the backbone of our society, providing us with fresh food for our tables. Agricultural plastic products may seem unnecessary, but the durability of rotational molding can help make farming and harvesting be handled seamlessly. Replacement parts for equipment, water storage, and pallets can all be utilized by local farms.

Creating high-end parts that are durable and aesthetically appealing is something our team has perfected. OEM parts are often hard to come by or can take weeks to arrive. Hive Plastics can craft parts that meet the manufacturer’s specifications and will get your equipment operational much faster.

Road barriers, construction cones, and bins are all made by Hive Plastics. These common construction markers not only protect drivers, but also help construction workers know where to work and protect them from traffic. Construction barriers and equipment need to be created by a dedicated professional for longevity.

Some consumers need a high-end product for their small business, custom home, or custom outdoor build. Hive Plastics can help craft a roto-molded part for playgrounds, equipment, interior home elements, and much more. We can work directly with clients if necessary to ensure the product meets your unique needs.

Easy-to-clean and sanitize containers are important for hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and medical supply centers. Our plastic molded products can protect different materials from contamination, which is important for everyone’s health, and continually meet FDA standards.

In a defense and aerospace project, there is no margin for error. Working with Hive Plastics, you can ensure that your gear, mechanical components, shipping containers, and more can withstand high pressure. Changing pressures and temperature is common in these industries, so your plastic will need to remain intact through the entire mission.

Waste management and recycling industries need proper storage and transfer containers to complete their jobs. Roto-molded trash cans, tilt trucks, or storage bins can handle heavy loads and different waste materials with ease. The one-piece plastic bins are also easy to clean and sanitize, without losing structural integrity.

What is Rotational Molding?

Rotational molding, often called rotomolding, is a manufacturing process used to create strong, hollow plastic parts. Powdered plastic resin is placed inside a hollow mold, which is then heated and slowly rotated in multiple directions. As the mold turns, the plastic melts and coats the inside surface evenly. Once it cools, the mold is opened and a seamless, one-piece part is removed. Rotomolding is ideal for making large, durable products like tanks, bins, toys, and outdoor equipment because it produces consistent wall thickness, excellent impact strength, and very little waste.

Superior Strength
& Durability

Rotomolding allows plastic to build up naturally, creating consistent wall thickness and reinforced corners. These stress-free parts offer high impact resistance and extreme durability, even in the harshest industrial environments.

Seamless, One-Piece
Construction

By rotating the mold on two axes, we create solid, single-unit parts without seams or weld lines. This process ensures unmatched structural integrity, resulting in leak-proof products that are exceptionally rugged and built to last.

Maximum Efficiency,
Minimum Waste

Our process is both sustainable and cost-effective. By pre-measuring resin, we achieve virtually zero material waste. Plus, lower-pressure tooling makes it more affordable to move from design to production compared to other molding methods.

See Our Custom Projects

From water storage tanks and material handling bins to trash cans, canoes, and traffic barriers, our projects reflect the wide range of products we’re capable of producing. With years of hands-on experience, we’ve partnered with a diverse mix of industries to deliver durable, high-quality solutions tailored to real-world needs. Every project showcases our versatility, craftsmanship, and commitment to building products that perform.

Let’s Build Something
Together

What are the typical lead times for a new custom project from concept to production?

While every project varies based on complexity, the typical timeline for a new custom rotational molding project is 8 to 14 weeks. This includes roughly 2–4 weeks for design and engineering consultation, followed by 6–10 weeks for the fabrication of high-quality aluminum or steel tooling. Once the mold is finalized and approved, production of the actual plastic parts can usually begin within 1–2 weeks.

Can Hive Plastics incorporate metal inserts or hardware directly into the plastic parts?

Yes. One of the primary advantages of our rotational molding process is the ability to perform molded-in inserts. We can strategically place threaded brass, stainless steel, or carbon steel fasteners and structural supports into the mold before the heating cycle. This creates a permanent, high-strength bond that is far more durable than post-production drilling or heat-staking, making it ideal for industrial tanks and heavy-duty equipment.

Does Hive Plastics offer assembly and secondary finishing services?

We position ourselves as a complete product development partner, which includes post-molding secondary operations. Beyond molding the shell, we provide services such as CNC trimming for high-precision openings, flame treating for better paint/label adhesion, spin welding for leak-proof fittings, and full component assembly. We can also manage the procurement of non-plastic parts to deliver a retail-ready or installation-ready finished product to your facility.

What types of materials and additives are available for specialized environments?

While we primarily work with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), we offer a range of specialized additives to meet your environment’s specific needs. This includes UV stabilizers for prolonged outdoor exposure, anti-static agents for electronics handling, antimicrobial compounds for sanitation systems, and custom color-matching to ensure your product aligns perfectly with your brand’s visual identity.

How does Hive Plastics support sustainable manufacturing practices?

Sustainability is integrated into our “controlled growth” philosophy. Rotational molding is inherently low-waste because the exact weight of resin needed is measured before each cycle. Furthermore, the materials we use (like HDPE) are 100% recyclable. For eligible industrial projects, we can discuss the use of “regrind” (recycled plastic) to lower the environmental footprint and cost of the product without compromising structural integrity.
